Vivo X23 Smartphone Pre-orders Exceed 6 Lakhs on Jingdong Mall in China Emerging as Oppo R17 Rival

Vivo recently launched its X23 smartphone in China on September 6. It’s an updated version of its year-old Vivo X21 UD flagship, which was apparently the world’s first smartphone with an in-display fingerprint sensor. The all-new Vivo X23 shares much of its X21 genetics, and that’s evident right from the exterior design of the smartphone.
Vivo X23: Records Over 6 Lakhs Pre-Orders in China in Just Three Days
Now, a recent report coming from China reveals that the Vivo X23 has received an overwhelming response from consumers, and have already amassed over 6,20,000 pre-orders on Jingdong Mall. The huge demand for the smartphone isn’t really unprecedented. It’s predecessor, the Vivo X21 too succeeded in attracting thousands of consumers, but the numbers weren’t as overwhelming as in the case of the all-new Vivo X23.
Vivo X23: Waterdrop Notch, Faster and Accurate In-Display Fingerprint Sensor
One of the major aesthetic upgrade of the Vivo X23 over its predecessor is its display. The flagship phone now comes with a trendy waterdrop shaped notch, in place of the iPhone X like notch seen in the last generation product. This results in a higher screen-to-body ration, and immersive movie watching experience. The display on the Vivo X23 is decently large at 6.41 inches. It comes with a Full HD+ resolution and a 19.5:9 screen-to-body ratio.
The in-display fingerprint tech on the Vivo X23 has also received a much-needed upgrade. The smartphone now comes with a fourth-generation photo-electric on-screen fingerprint sensor. Vivo claims that this sensor is 40% more accurate than the one found in the X21. The unlocking speed has also been greatly improved. Apart from that, the flagship smartphone features a Jovi Smart Voice Assistant. It is capable of making calls, checking the weather, setting alarms, writing notes etc. Moreover, Vivo has included a Bixby like dedicated button on its X23 smartphone for its new assistant.
Vivo X23: Specifications, Features
Underneath the hood, the Vivo X23 comes with an upper mid-range chip, namely the Qualcomm Snapdragon 670 Mobile Platform. It’s an updated version of the Snapdragon 660 that was present inside the Vivo X21. The all-new Snapdragon 670 chip comes with a set of eight cores and is capable of breezing through most of your day-to-day tasks. Additionally, it isn’t really sluggish in terms of its gaming performance too and can match up with older generation Snapdragon 800 series chipsets.

The Vivo X23 comes with a whopping 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage. That said, another major highlight of the all-new Vivo flagship is its camera. It comes with a dual rear camera setup, which has now been updated with two new sensors. The unit now comprises a 12MP primary and a 13MP secondary shooter. Moreover, a 12MP front located selfie snapper is also present on the Vivo X23. Both cameras are powered by Vivo’s power-packed Camera UI which comes with a hoard of features and various shooting modes. Furthermore, the camera is aided with certain AI-powered elements.
Vivo X23: Price, Competition
The Vivo X23 is currently available for pre-order at 3,498 Yuan (Rs 36,856). The pricing of the smartphone is very similar to that of the Oppo R17. Apparently, both the devices share very similar specifications. Therefore, the overwhelming response of the Vivo X23 isn’t really a pleasant new for Oppo, which apparently is also owned by the same parent firm as that of Vivo.
